The Great Pumpkin Glow

The Great Pumpkin Glow at Kingwood Center Gardens in Mansfield promises to be bigger and better than ever this  year.

A family-friendly event, the Great Pumpkin Glow features a wonderful display of more than 1,000 carved and lit pumpkins at dusk across Kingwood’s grounds. Friendly scarecrows, festive gourds, towering corn stalks and lovely chrysanthemums add to the inviting autumn beauty of the event, which runs from 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 15 and 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at Kingwood, 50 N. Trimble Road, Mansfield. Visitors are asked to enter through the Linden Road gate.

Admission for the Great Pumpkin Glow at the gate is $8 per person; children 6 and younger are free. Online purchasing will close at noon Oct. 15.

Great Pumpkin Glow adds

New for 2016’s event:

    • Expanded walking path.
    • Mansfield/Richland County Public Library will entertain young visitors with a fun “cut and tell” activity.
    • Live music, more vendors, including gourmet cupcakes, metal garden art and glow-in-the dark items.
    • 2016 Pumpkin Glow glow-in-the-dark T-shirt – available for $14.  Or become a member of Kingwood and receive a free T-shirt, and enjoy all of the other benefits of membership, including free daily admission, free admission to Christmas at Kingwood and more.
    • Horse-drawn hayrides.
    • Food vendors.
    • Scarecrow display contest

Parking for the Great Pumpkin Glow is at Value City Furniture, Startek or Mansfield Senior High School via West Park Boulevard. Complimentary shuttle service will be available only at Value City Furniture and Startek.  If you park at Mansfield Senior High School, there will be a short walk to the Linden Road Entrance. Entrance will be on Linden Road

Kingwood Center will not be open the days of the Great Pumpkin Glow until the event begins at 5 p.m.

Want to carve a pumpkin?

Carve a pumpkin between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 12 and Oct. 13. There is no admission during those times. Guests who want to carve a pumpkin should enter Kingwood through the Trimble Road gate and park in the main parking lot. Carved pumpkins remain the property of Kingwood and will be displayed at the Great Pumpkin Glow. Carving supplies will be provided.
