Marion Popcorn Festival

One of the biggest and most popular Labor Day events in Ohio, the Marion Popcorn Festival includes three days full of headlining bands, parade, bike tour, 5k run, fine arts and crafts, Kiddie Korner, and an over-50 softball tournament. There are numerous rides and activities for the whole family. The food is unarguably the main attraction, but the entertainment is a close second! Located just under one-and-a-half hours from our Inn, it’s the perfect distance for a day trip.

Vineyard Tours

Did you know Ohio boasts some incredible local vineyards and wine? September is harvest season and the perfect time to explore our area’s wine country! Some our favorite vineyards in Central Ohio include White Shutter Winery, Shamrock Vineyard, Winery 1285, Fox Winery, and Dragonfly Vineyard and Wine Cellar. Savor delicious wine and enjoy wonderful views of the lush green countryside. This is a great way to spend your time if you’re looking for a casual, relaxing weekend activity.

Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival

Ohio is full of unique and fun festivals, and the Tiffin-Seneca Heritage Festival certainly makes the list! This year’s festival includes amusement rides, live music all weekend, ethnic food wagons, unique arts and crafts for sale, and a children's area where they experience hands-on activities related to the heritage of our country. The festival takes place on Labor Day Weekend and admission is free, with the exception of the Living History Village which is approximately $3. It is held in downtown Tiffin and Hedges-Boyer Park between Summit and Coe Street. Tiffin, Ohio, is located approximately 35 minutes from the HideAway Country Inn.

Little Brown Jug

Another fabulous day trip for the horse lovers, Delaware County Fair takes place Labor Day Week and is located just over 40 minutes from the HideAway. The fair hosts The Little Brown Jug September 22, 2022 on the fastest half-mile track in harness racing in the world! Come fo rth etradition and enjoy the season's best 3 year old pacers. Spend the Day at a Water Park

Labor Day Weekend is typically one of the last weekends that local pools and water parks are open. One of the most popular water parks in Ohio, Cedar Point will be open Labor Day Weekend from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. This is the last full day the water park is open for the season, so don’t miss your chance to cool off!
