A Highlight of the Weekend

The 2018 Mohican Wildlife Weekend includes over 30 programs in several different locations throughout the Mohican area. The three-day event features everything from birding tours to hands-on animal exhibits. Here are a few of the weekend’s activities.

Friday evening, listen to featured speaker Jake Coffy share his experience on hiking the entire Appalachian Trail! After graduating high school, Jake pursued his dream of trekking across the 2,200-mile path stretching from Georgia to Maine. In exactly four months, he completed the journey and is excited to tell his story. Following the presentation, enjoy a campfire cookout with marshmallows and hot dogs!

Saturday includes a full day of events ranging from disc golf to a Wildlife Barn Dance at the Malabar Farm. Explore your creative side with a Creatures and Canvas painting class or Kids Craft and Painting at Charles Mill Lake Park.

The last day of the wildlife weekend is equally filled with fascinating events including a Charles Mill Lake History Pontoon ride, mushroom and birding hikes, and programs at Pleasant Hill Lake Park.
