4 Haunted Houses in Northwest Ohio That Will Make You Scream

Factory of Terror Haunted House

Our favorite haunted house in Northwest Ohio is The Factory of Terror. This terrifying attraction is one of the most popular in the country and holds the Guinness World Record for the longest-running haunted house in the world! If you consider yourself a fan of anything spooky, then it’s a must-see. The Factory has over a mile of haunted scenery and five, full-length attractions to explore. You’ll love the variety of teeth-rattling, paranormal adventures! We recommend buying your tickets in advance, as this attraction can be quite busy during the fall.

Nightmare in the Wilderness

Nightmare in the Wilderness is a fall staple in the region. After all, it’s been around for more than 26 years! This haunted house is only open from September to October, but it’s worth a visit. Bring your friends and family and prepare for frightening entertainment! You’ll also be glad to know that it’s only a short drive from exit 83 on I-71, which makes it easily accessible.

During the day, stop by the Apple Cabin, a charming apple orchard that hosts apple and pumpkinpicking tours. It’s a great way to celebrate the season. They also sell fine jams, jellies, and other delightful treats. Once the sun sets, however, get ready for a much more sinister experience. Take a short hayride into the Lodi Haunted Forest and follow the “Psycho Path” for 45 minutes of pure terror. Let’s see if you manage to survive the thrills of a night at Medina County’s most popular haunted attraction!

Ohio State Reformatory

The Ohio State Reformatory is a stunning Victorian building that visitors can explore all year long. But during the fall, it turns into one of the best haunted places in Ohio! Their Ghost Walk Tour takes you through the prison halls where more than 5,230 prisoners lived. If you’re lucky (or not?), you might even see some of their ghosts.

Haunted Bissman Building at the Shawshank Brewer Hotel

If you’re a ghost hunter or an amateur tourist just looking for a spooky adventure, the Haunted Bissman Building will satisfy your thrill-seeking needs. As part of the Haunted Mansfield collection, The Bissman Building is one of five distinct sites that attract paranormal investigators from around the country. This creepy building has even been featured on the SyFy series Ghost Hunters! The building is located in Downtown Mansfield, Ohio, and is open all year long. No matter what time of year you’re planning to visit, paranormal Ohio is waiting.
