Van Buren State Park is located just under an hour away from HideAway Inn and offers a day full of fun for the whole family. Enjoy fishing or bow hunting, canoeing or rowboating on the lake, hiking the 6 miles of trails, or picnicking in any of the many scenic locations nestled throughout the park. Other nearby attractions include the Springville Marsh Nature Preserve, the Old Mill Stream Parkway, and the Indian Trail Caverns.
Mt. Gilead State park is located about a half hour's drive away from HideAway Inn. Two small lakes offer excellent fishing and boating opportunities, and the 6.5 miles of trails beckon horseback riders, hikers, and nature enthusiasts. Other nearby attractions include the President Harding Home, Memorial and Museum and Kokosing and Knox Lakes.
Names for the Delaware tribe that used to live in the area, Delaware State Park has a rich and varied history. Its limestone was quarried to build the Ohio State Capitol building and nearby Fort Morrow was built to protect settlers from the threat of Indian attacks. Park visitors will enjoy picnicking, boating, fishing, hunting and hiking. Nearby attractions include the Delaware Wildlife Area, the Olentangy Indian Caverns, and the Seymour Woods State Nature Preserve.
Located approximately 50 minutes from HideAway Inn, the Alum Creek State Park is the perfect setting for an outdoor enthusiast's day away. The park offers visitors 9.5 miles of hiking trails, 38 miles of bridle trails, and 14.5 miles of biking trails in the rolling fields and woodlands surrounding the 3000+ acre reservoir. Enjoy the Ohio's largest inland beach or fish in the plentiful serene inlets and coves. Scenic picnic areas include tables, grills, restrooms and clean drinking water. Nearby attractions include the Highbanks Metro Park, Delaware State Park, and the city of Columbus.
Mohican State Park, located just an hour's drive away from HideAway Inn, offers visitors a variety of recreational activities including hiking, picnicking, camping and canoeing.
