Aside from being specialized personnel President Roosevelt and chairing the Industrial Commission, S.H. Smith was a great innovator of farm technology, creating the Smith Incubator. In fact, at the HideAway Country Inn’s library you’ll see pictures of his elevator, one of the first storage buildings that would later serve as the prototype of grain systems you see today.
