The New York Theatre holds claim to being the most widely seen chamber ballet company in the United States. They earned acclaim for the restoration and revival of small masterworks by great choreographers and for innovative ballets based on children’s literature. Its audiences know the Company for its theatrical expressiveness, high production quality, and excellent technique. With aesthetic roots in the Cecchetti-Diaghilev tradition of the Ballet Russe, NYTB’s innovative concept of hour long ballets for children has grown into its Once Upon a Ballet series. These entertaining and meticulously rendered productions have introduced thousands of people to the world of classic ballet. Edye Cook’s Ballet Company will provide Act I entertainment.
