Fall Wedding Trends Use Natural Abundance and Colors to Create Beauty

August 7, 2014

Fall weddings are generally held by those who are in love with the bright colors, the nostalgic feeling of the season, and the rustic sophistication that the natural decorations bring this time of year.

Though you can probably guess the commonly used colors, the rich hues of orange, red, brown, deep green, mustard yellow, olive, and rust can be used and seen throughout autumn weddings. The use of white and ivory flowers and candles is a way to bring elegance to the event. Utilizing one of the bold primary colors highlighted by the use of one or two secondary colors creates an array of fall wedding color choices.

However, the jewel colors  of deep burgundy, blue, purple and green bring in a hint of royalty and are also now trending for a more modern, chic, and elegant wedding.

To mix country rustic with classy modern, the use of small branches, twigs, and berry ivy wrapped around a cream colored candle with twine or raffeta can be easy yet beautiful.

Autumn is also the perfect time for a wedding as it symbolizes abundance and prosperity. Use this thought in your wedding by having natural table décor that showcases the season’s bounty. Utilize pumpkins, apples, squash, and berries in baskets as centerpieces. You can tie shiny ivory ribbon on the handles to bring in a touch of refinement.

For favors, you can offer little jars of seasonal jam or jelly with a keepsake tag or label from your wedding. You’ll want to serve an abundance of red wine and your flowers could be dried field wildflowers reminiscent of a walk in the meadow and tied with more ivory ribbon.

Your cake flavor could keep in theme with a spice, carrot, or pumpkin cake. Your reception menu could use season foods like baked acorn squash and sweet potatoes dressed up in decadent style.
