Enjoy German Heritage with German Wine Dinner and Events in Bucyrus Ohio

Beifall! Of course, that’s German for CHEERS!

Starting in the month of August with the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival and into Oktoberfest in late September, German heritage is celebrated almost round the clock in and near Bucyrus, Ohio.

At HideAway Country Inn, a historic place to dine, lodge, and retreat, we don’t miss out on the fun so that you can have fun! We embrace the area’s German heritage and enjoy celebrating historic and cultural traditions with our guests and patrons. In August, we are featuring German wines!

In that same link on the Bratwurst chain, our next wine dinner will be on August 16, coinciding with the events at the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival, held August 14, 15, 16, 2014. At HideAway’s new Restaurant 1938, we’ll feature four wines with four courses to enliven your palate to authentic dishes and fine wine. Our Chef is busy being creative and thinking up wonderful dishes for you and what wines go best with each course.

Some of the German wines we feature at HideAway Inn are Dr. Loosen “Red Slate” which is Dry Riesling 2010, Dr. Loosen “Wehlener Sonnenuhr” Riesling 2011, and G & M Machmer Gewurtztraminer 2010 and Heinz Eifel Auslese Riesling 2010.

And if you’re German or not, you can come in anytime to our Pub 1938 during its business hours for beer! There’s always a reason to celebrate beer! We have new craft beers in stock, so along with Budweiser, Bud Light, Yuengling, and Shock Top, there is Great Lakes Dormunder Gold, a variety of Brooklyn's Beers, Hofbrau's Hefeweizen, Anchor Steam's Amber, and Anchor Steam's Liberty!

We look forward to celebrating fine German food, wine, beer, and culture with you! Bucyrus is home to many generations of German heritage, with its first settlers in the early 1800s being German. It’s known for its Bratwurst, made at various locations with family recipes.

Call us at (800) 570-8233 to make reservations soon for our German Wine Dinner or to stay the weekend with us during the Bucyrus Bratwurst Festival. Mark your calendars now for the end of September and stay tuned for more information about our Oktoberfest activities!
