June is Ohio Wine Month: Learn Ohio Wine History and Enjoy a Dinner Featuring Ohio Food and Wine

Make your plans now to celebrate Ohio Wine Month with us in June! Ohio is rapidly growing and becoming known as a place for great wineries, and of course, delicious wine to suit most any palate.

According to Brownfield Ag News in 2012, Dave Daniels, the Director of the Ohio Department of Agriculture, said that Ohio has 162 wineries that are producing about a million gallons of wine a year, which puts a great amount of money into the economy!

Ohio is ripe (pun intended) for growing grapes just right for the picking! Ohio has been making wine since the early 19th Century; its fertile limestone soil and moderate temperatures along the Ohio River and Lake Erie produce wines that are flavorful and of high quality. According to the Taste Ohio Wine website, some of the Ohio wines are considered the best in the world and continuously are presented with national and international awards.

If you are an Ohio resident, it pays to buy local wine from the many surrounding wineries or those restaurants or locations that sell their wines, not to mention the fact that most people give Ohio wines a resounding thumbs-up on taste!

At HideAway Country Inn, located in Mid Ohio near Bucyrus and Marion, we are proud to sell Ohio wines in our restaurant and bar. On June 7, 2014, we plan to begin Ohio Wine Month at our location with a wine dinner planned especially for you—the wine lover. And perhaps, even to entice some of you who are wine novices and want to learn a little more.

Join us at 6 p.m. that evening for a delightful dinner featuring Ohio foods and wines from Ohio wineries such as Shamrock Vineyards, Mon Ami, Kinkead Ridge, and Versailles. Representatives from these wineries will be in attendance and you'll be able to learn about Ohio's wine history and tour our historic climate-controlled wine cellar.

Our event is by ticket only and seats will fill fast, so we urge you to call our reservation specialists today at (800) 570-8233 and go online to view more information about our fine dining options in our gorgeous dining room as well as our Leaning Oak Bistro and Wine Bar.
