Spring and Summer Brings Ohio Bird and Nature Getaways: See Options for Birding Trips!

Ohio is home to a wide array of bird species, which makes spring and summer here prime time for anyone interested in birding, nature, and bird conservancy, as well as nature photography! According to The Ohio Ornithological Society website, as of 2011 there were over 425 birds on Ohio’s list, with the only neighboring states boasting a bigger list being Michigan. With Earth Day upon us, it’s a time to make an ode to nature and to start making plans for a spring and summer spent enjoying the great outdoors.

In central Ohio, with its beautiful scenic fields and woodland areas, birds delight in the trees, flowers, rivers, and serene environments that the areas in Mansfield, Loudonville, Bucyrus, Marion, Findlay, and Ashland provide. With countless parks, nature preserves, and roadside stopping points, birds abound as much as the lovely wildflowers.

If you are a birder who likes to don your binoculars, zoom lens on your DSLR camera, carry your pocket guide to birds, and your special tracking notebook, we welcome you to Ohio and to HideAway Country Inn in Bucyrus, Ohio. Nestled around winding roads, fields, a babbling brook, and a soon to be swaying with leaves forest, our bed and breakfast is the perfect quiet abode to spend a week-long getaway or weekend getaway.

Stroll through Ohio areas during the daytime, from Malabar Farm and Mohican State Park or from Sandusky and neighboring town by Lake Erie, knowing that HideAway Inn is a short scenic drive from all your day birding trips. You can capture many various species during the week, after enjoying one of our famous hearty breakfasts. You can stay in our themed Loft rooms to make it extra special and soak your feet after a day of walking (and patient camera holding pattern to catch those birds in flight) in our jetted tub or Jacuzzi. Wouldn’t it be lovely to choose a room that overlooks our woodland areas or our vast field and natural views?

You can see all our packages available just for birders on our website! We cater to your love of birds!
