Five New Spring Wedding Trends to Make Your Special Day Beautiful

Planning your Spring wedding for after all the snow, rain, and cold leave our beautiful Ohio landscape? You still have time to put the finishing touches on a May wedding or get a jumpstart for a Spring 2015 wedding as it’s never too early to begin planning your big day.

Five hot trends for this year, that will likely still be hip next year too, are speaking to light hues like peach and gold, with hints of color such as the Pantone Color of the Year like Radiant Orchid. We've listed our five ideas below in order to assist you in brainstorming a perfectly gorgeous event.

Think Rebirth and Renewal: Common Spring Themes

We normally think of the themes of rebirth and renewal when we think of Easter or Springtime season change; however, a big trend for weddings right now in addition to Spring flowers is utilizing things like frogs, butterflies, rabbits, ducks. Of course, you don’t HAVE to use the real things, but think about cute photos on stationary, place holders, favors, and table decorations. There are plenty of ways to make it modern and cute, but not childish. These animals can we well-done incorporated into a vintage theme.

Think Neutral, Not Pastels

Though pastels have been big in the past, and vibrant hues are also on trend, for weddings a hot item right now is layering neutral colors like peach, blush, gold, sage, champagne, taupe. You can accent this color scheme with radiant orchid (namely by using beautiful orchids as your table décor) or one of the other vibrant oranges or teals. Add the gold or silver as an accent and ensure a silver lining to the start of your life together! You can use prints like paisley or chevron as linen accents.

Cascading Flowers and Greenery

Big this year is the lovely idea of using cascading flowers and plants in the bridal bouquet, as well as utilizing ivy hung from the back of chairs and used within the spring décor.

Simple Cakes

Cakes are going simpler this year in terms of frosting, as they are being adorned with more external decorations than utilizing the frosting or fondant to make a statement. Simple white frosting on a tier cake can be decorated with hanging flowers or vine. Or choosing a cake like carrot cake can be a big hit. Also making a splash in the wedding world is having cakes made that are decorated with more natural ingredients like fresh fruit, figs, and nuts.

Light Menu and Drink Bars

Spring time fare such as mousse, fresh fruit, finger sandwiches, and other lighter appetizers are being more commonly used instead of a per plate dinner. Drink bars are also fabulous and can be suited to taste, time of day, and budget. You can have a mixed drink bar, a lemonade bar with fruit and herb toppings, or a beer garden.
