Wine Pairings in Mid-Ohio at HideAway Country Inn
By Rachel KerrAugust 16, 2012
Wine loves food: which food pairings are best with wine? As many of you know, HideAway Country Inn, located between Bucyrus, Marion and Mansfield, Ohio, is putting on a “Napa Valley Wine Dinner Experience” on September 13th from 7pm-9pm. Along with some amazing Napa wines will be some delicious dishes that help to enhance the flavor of the wine. This leads me to a great question: what types of food do you serve with wine when hosting a wine tasting or rounding up a group of friends for a fun night in?
We’ve searched high and low to find you some easy, quick and tasty recipes you can make at home and create your own “wine experience.”
1)The Sassy Deviled Egg
Create deviled eggs with chopped shrimp and a smidge chopped dill pickle. This goes great with Reisling.
2) Fondue Delight
Fondue is a always a hit! Add apples, bread cubes, veggies, potatoes etc. The best part? Everyone LOVES it.
3) Wine in your Food
Marinate Keilbasa for 2 hours and roasted in a red wine you are serving.
4) Mid Ohio loves Potatoes!
Roasted small red potatoes, tossed in black olive tapenade, Add olive oil and fresh lemon slices.
5) Crazy Good Crostini
Crostini with cream cheese mixed with sun dried tomatoes in oil, raw garlic, freshly minced and a mix of herbs.
Whether you’re driving in from Marion, Ohio, Mansfield, Ohio or all the way from Napa Valley, HideAway’s wine dinner is one experience you won’t want to miss! Wondering what food we’re pairing with our Napa wines? We can’t tell! You’ll just have to experience the food for yourself.
