Tyropitakia- From Hideaway’s “Greek Out!” Cooking Class 2015

Ingredients

  • 500 gr. / 17.5 oz. filo pastry
  • 200 gr. / 7 oz. feta cheese crumbled
  • 150 gr. / 5.25 oz. kefalotiri cheese — grated
  • 2 sp. Greek yoghurt
  • 1 sp. chopped mint
  • 2 sp. chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • Salt & pepper

Preparation

Prepare filling by combining all filling ingredients. Cut the pastry in long stripes. Use a heaping teaspoon for the cheese mixture. Fill in the end of every strip and fold. After folding brush top with oil and egg. Then bake at 180 0C / 350 0F for 20 min. or bake until golden.

TIP: These tyropitakia may be prepared and frozen, prior to baking..
